Maison Les Alexandrins Saint Joseph

Bottle size: 75cl

A complex bouquet of cherries, blueberry and black pepper. The palate is powerful with firm tannins, structured acidity and pronounced notes of sweet spices and blackberry fruit. This is a very elegant wine with impressive length.
The soil in Saint Joseph is mainly composed of granite. The vineyards span 40 kilometres along the right bank of the Rhône river. The Syrah is sourced from both the north of the appellation, which brings finesse and delicate fruit flavours, and from the historical centre of Saint Joseph, where the fruit gives more flesh and body to the wine.
Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins was established by Nicolas Jaboulet, formerly of the eponymous winery in Tain, the Perrin family from Château de Beaucastel, winemaker Guillaume Sorrel and viticulturalist Alexandre Caso in 2015. The partnership of this ‘micro-négociant’ stemmed from a long-standing friendship, a shared love of gastronomy and an aim to create wines that represent the best of their appellations. Now run solely by Nicolas, Alexandre and winemaker Benoît Busseuil, Maison Les Alexandrins is the négociant side of the business and these wines incorporate fruit purchased from a selection of the top growers in each appellation of the Northern Rhône, whereas the fruit for the Domaine Les Alexandrins wines comes entirely from estate-owned vineyards in Saint Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage.
