Jean-Claude Boisset Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly
Region: Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Vintage: 2022
Bottle size: 75cl
Grape: Chardonnay
ABV: 13%
Bright yellow in colour with golden reflections, `En Remilly` has a seductive nose with aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers and sweet spices alongside some subtle smoky notes. On the palate, the flavours are concentrated and layered, supported by a fresh mineral vein. The wine is well-balanced with bright, lifted acidity and a very nice length.
Saint-Aubin is located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. The vines are, for the most part, planted on the right side of the wide valley that winds its way up toward La Rochepot. The appellation is divided between two separate hills: the Montagne de Savoie, which marks the end of the Côte d'Or, and the Montagne du Ban lying perpendicular to it. "En Remilly" is located on the latter south-facing slope, only five minutes' walk from Chevalier Montrachet. The winemaker, Grégory Patriat describes this wine as "Puligny and Chassagne in a glass", as it shows characteristics of both wines.
Jean-Claude Boisset is a family-owned wine company founded in 1961. Jean-Claude’s first parcel of land was located in Gevrey-Chambertin and today the company is based in Les Ursulines, a former convent in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and run by his children Jean-Charles and Nathalie. In 2018, they opened a new state-of-the-art winery, which reflects their modern, technical approach to winemaking. The wines have been made by Grégory Patriat since 2002. He previously worked as head viticulturalist and assistant winemaker at the legendary Domaine Leroy, and has brought a detailed, vineyard-led approach to Jean-Claude Boisset
