The nose displays notes of white blossom complemented by aromas of bright citrus and peach fruit and a hint of gunflint. The palate shows lifted acidity, powerful concentration with underlying salinity and an exceptionally long, textured finish.

Domaine Laroche owns 1.12 hectares of the Grand Cru Les Clos (counting 25.81 hectares in total). We know from historical sources that the Monks of St Martin of Tours planted vines in this location back in 9th century, naming it after “Les Clos” (meaning “walls” in English) that once surrounded the vineyard. "Les Clos" is located just opposite the village of Chablis with a Southern exposure. This favourable sunny situation allows grapes to achieve excellent ripeness. and resulting in rich, powerful wines with a great ageing potential. The soil is also well drained, resulting in grapes are concentrated in both acidity and aroma. "Les Clos" is the most long-lasting Grand Cru of Domaine Laroche and offers the most intense minerality.

Domaine Laroche is deeply rooted in the history of Chablis, based in the ‘Obédiencerie’, a former monastery in Chablis itself, where wine has been made for over 1,000 years. The quality of the wines is consistently impeccable, with the Chablis hallmark of crystalline purity and racy acidity. Their ownership of vineyards is remarkable and sets them apart from their main competitors. Chablis is a fragmented region, yet Domaine Laroche owns 90 hectares of vines, including 21 hectares of Premier Cru and six hectares of Grand Cru vineyards. In addition to their own vineyards, the domaine has developed long-standing purchasing partnerships with 40 small growers. Both the building and vineyard are still very much alive today: the estate continues to make and mature Premier and Grands Crus in the original cellars. The domaine has been built up over the past 160 years, but a dynamism that is unusual in such a venerable producer permeates everything Laroche does.
