This wine is a bright ruby red in colour with abundant perfumes of cherry and blueberry, and eucalyptus and balsamic notes. On the palate are concentrated flavours of blackberry and dried fruits and delicate spicy hints from oak ageing. The wine is smooth and supple with pleasant acidity and a persistent finish.
‘Hebo’ was the name of an ancient Etruscan settlement in Suvereto, a commune located in the provence of Livorno in Tuscany. Soils here comprise of stony, dry topsoils of tectonic origin, with a sub layer that is rich in manganese and other metals of alluvial origin. This wine is produced from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, introduced to Suvereto in the early 1800s.
Created by the Moretti family of Bellavista, this 300 hectare estate is situated in Suvereto in the Val di Cornia. When Vittorio Moretti and his daughter Francesca set out in search of a property in the Maremma in 1997, they asked Attilio Scienza, Italy’s most celebrated viticultural professor and consultant, to help them find the best spot.
