The tasting reveals a bright gold colour. On the nose, ripe yellow stone fruit, with a touch of beeswax and toasted almond. Complex, intense and sapid on the palate, with iodine notes and a hint of orange peel and honey. A long, slightly saline finish.
Aux Charmes is located below the village of Vergisson, on a rather cool area despite its south-eastern exposition. Here, the dark soils are constituted with calcareous grey marls.
The Burrier family’s association with the vineyards of southern Burgundy, which extends over a period of 5 centuries and 7 generations, has established them as one of the region’s most distinguished producers. Today, they own 60 hectares of vineyards in Mâconnais and Beaujolais, making them one of the leading owners of vineyards in the region. The total vineyard area covered by the Joseph Burrier vineyards is comprised of several prominent estates including Domaine Joseph Burrier and the famous Château Beauregard, which was been run by the family for 7 generations since it was established in 1854.
