There are elegant and intense varietal notes on the nose: aromas of passion fruit, mint, pineapple, white peach, tomato leaves and sage. On the palate, it is elegant and fine, with a balancing and refreshing acidity. Rich flavours ranging from citrus to tropical fruit lead to a balsamic and mineral finish.
The vineyards for this wine are located in the heart of Friuli's Colli Orientali DOC, near the village of Rosazzo. Soils are marl and sandstone flysch ('ponca' in the local dialect) of Eocene origin and the vines are trained with Guyot system.
The quality of the Felluga range can largely be attributed to the fruit being grown on their 155 hectare property, which is divided into 300 parcels. The estate’s vineyards straddle provincial borders, being located in both Colli Orientali and Collio. Their most prized possession is the holding at Rosazzo, where their Merlot and the grape varieties used in the famed ‘Terre Alte’ blend (Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc) are planted.
