Deep purple in colour, with beautiful aromas of wild dark fruits, vanilla and chocolate on the nose. This is a complex and rich Malbec with smooth ripe tannins and a long finish.
It is made with grapes that come from two different places. 50% come from our vineyard in Perdriel by the side of the Mendoza River, the land having rocky soils, clay and caliche spots. We combine these with grapes grown in high as well as sandy and climestones soils located in Gualtallary at 1400 masl. Two different worlds, that when together, results in good sucrosity and freshness at the same time.
Matías Riccitelli was born in Cafayate, Salta, a charming village in northern Argentina where wine is lived and breathed. A tireless traveler and dreamer, Matías trained as a winemaker in one of Argentina’s most prestigious wineries. After traveling the world through multiple harvests, gaining experience and anecdotes, he decided to blend everything he learned throughout his career with the teachings of his mentor and father, Jorge Riccitelli. Thus, in 2009, Riccitelli Wines was born. The winery is located in Las Compuertas, in the highest area of the traditional Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, at 1,100 meters above sea level (m.a.s.l.).
