An expressive nose with aromas of ripe cherry, dried flowers, delicate spices and a subtle earthiness. The palate reveals ultra-fine tannins, silky mouthfeel and bright acidity, with superb potential for ageing.

Julien has 26 hectares of vines, which are up to 75 years old and lie at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Julien is in the process of converting his vineyards to organic and biodynamic viticulture. ‘Le Lieu Dit’ was the first single vineyard wine produced at Domaine des Bosquets in 2009. This northwest-facing vineyard is planted on sandy soils and measures just 1.8 hectares. It is a cooler site, which gives poise, elegance and a hallmark freshness to the finished wine.

Described by Jeb Dunnuck as “the Chambolle Musigny of the Rhône”, Domaine des Bosquets is today run by Julien Bréchet. Since taking over the family domaine in 2006, Julien has made a name for himself as one of the rising stars of Gigondas, with Josh Raynolds asserting that Julien “has quickly climbed to the top tier of not just the Gigondas quality ladder, but that of the whole Rhône Valley
