Very intense picota cherry colour, with a dark red rim. It is expressive, with
an aromatic sensation of plants and a pine forest after the rain. The wood is perfectly integrated, and the mouth offers lots of red fruit and some darker, black fruit notes. It is kind on the palate and with good tannins and perfect balance. It represents the landscape of the northern area of Ribera del Duero, with all its character, but with great finesse. The perfect partner to red meats, stews and other rich dishes
Using experience and knowledge gained in La Rioja, Bodegas Roda commenced this project in Ribera del Duero in 1999. After years of research into Spanish regions also suited to the cultivation of Tempranillo, the ‘Denominación de Origen’ of La Horra in Burgos was chosen, not only for its history of viticulture dating back to pre-Roman times, but also for the potential development and adaptation of Tempranillo allowing production of wines characteristic of the Bodegas Roda philosophy.
