This Côte-Rôtie reveals a complex and powerful nose with notes of violets, black fruit, spices and smoke. Concentrated flavours match the nose, with velvety tannins and gentle spice lingering on the long finish.

The appellation of Côte Rôtie is located on the hills of the right bank of the Rhône river. The vineyards are located at an altitude ranging between 180 and 325 metres above sea level, with a dramatic gradient measuring 60%. The main soil is granite covered in places by schist, but also sand and calcareous soils, These soils, combined with the steep south-facing slopes, produce bold fruit. This wine is made from grapes primarily sourced from the southern part of the appellation; Côte Blonde and Côteau de Tupin, known for producing wines with notable elegance and finesse.

Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins was established by Nicolas Jaboulet, formerly of the eponymous winery in Tain, the Perrin family from Château de Beaucastel, winemaker Guillaume Sorrel and viticulturalist Alexandre Caso in 2015. The partnership of this ‘micro-négociant’ stemmed from a long-standing friendship, a shared love of gastronomy and an aim to create wines that represent the best of their appellations. Now run solely by Nicolas, Alexandre and winemaker Benoît Busseuil, Maison Les Alexandrins is the négociant side of the business and these wines incorporate fruit purchased from a selection of the top growers in each appellation of the Northern Rhône, whereas the fruit for the Domaine Les Alexandrins wines comes entirely from estate-owned vineyards in Saint Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage.
