Yangarra Estate Rousanne
Region: Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale, South Australia
Vintage: 2021
Bottle size: 75cl
Grape: Roussanne
ABV: 13%
Notes of stone fruit, dried lime, green melon and ripe pear. There are refined herbal accents, too, leaning into soft mint leaves, pine and furry young sage, rather than anything expressly green, with a subtle nutty brininess to close
Sourced from two blocks within the estate. No sulphur or acid was added to the juice. The passive oxidation as juice helps to naturally fine out the unstable phenolic compounds associated with this variety and accentuates its trademark texture. The un-fined and unsettled juice was transferred to mostly older French oak puncheons for wild yeast fermentation. No MLF. Matured for 8 months and stirred monthly with lees retained before racking and blending prior to bottling.
